About Gill Cunliffe

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them”

Maya Angelou

Hello, I’m Gill (she/her), a BACP-registered integrative therapist offering counselling, outdoor therapy, and menopause coaching.

My approach is gentle, down-to-earth, and centred on creating a space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported.

I haven’t always been a therapist. For years, I worked in a corporate career in materials science and design. But after a series of life-changing events, I felt the need to re-evaluate my path. I began volunteering with Wigan & Leigh Hospice—where I still support the bereavement team today—and retrained as a counsellor.

Leaving behind a stable job was daunting, but therapy helped me understand what I truly needed from life. It gave me the space to trust myself, grow, and move towards something more meaningful. I believe in the power of therapy because I’ve experienced its impact firsthand, and it changed everything.

I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, engage in regular professional supervision, and commit to ongoing training and CPD to ensure my practice remains safe, ethical, and up to date.

Why Choose FettleBee Therapy

FettleBee Therapy was born from a blend of personal experience, professional training, and a deep desire to offer something a little different. After qualifying as a counsellor, I began exploring how nature can support emotional healing. That journey, rooted in research and my own connection with the outdoors, confirmed what I’d always felt: that nature can be a powerful part of the therapeutic process. That’s why outdoor therapy has become a core part of my practice.

At the same time, I was going through the early stages of perimenopause while completing my honours degree. It was a challenging time that inspired me to understand more about what was happening to me—and to others. I went on to complete training with the British Menopause Society so I could support clients with research-backed, non-medical CBT techniques designed to help manage menopausal symptoms.

Alongside this, my years of experience volunteering in hospice care have shaped my grounded, compassionate approach—particularly when supporting clients through grief, loss, or major life changes.

This mix of counselling, outdoor therapy, and menopause coaching isn’t something you come across often—and it’s exactly what makes FettleBee Therapy unique. Whatever you’re facing, I’ll work with you in a way that feels authentic, supportive, and tailored to your needs.

The name FettleBee Therapy captures the essence of my approach. I believe in our innate ability to heal and grow, allowing us to rediscover authenticity and bring life and energy back into our lives.
